The window cleaning robot specialists RF Co., Ltd. (www.rof.co.kr) have advanced rapidly into the global market upon launching their “Windowmate” brand.

Founded in 2014, RF Co., Ltd. is a Korean robot company, whose flagship product, Windowmate, has been a runaway hit. In fact, exports of this magnet-based, intelligent robot window cleaner account for 70% of the company’s total sales, making it a success story in today’s global market environment. Products being shipped to overseas have stood out in particular this year.

Windowmate uses powerful neodymium magnets to attach itself to both sides of the window. Once attached, a push of a button will initiate the cleaning process, and the robot’s positioning sensors will allow the robot to autonomously clean both sides of the glass and frame. What was once a difficult and dangerous job is now easy and safe with this intelligent robot.

The robot’s magnetic power is maintained for windows up to 3 cm in thickness. Once cleaning is finished, the robot returns to its starting point, as a convenient feature.

Because it is battery operated, it is wireless, providing added convenience to the task. The battery can be used for 90 minutes after a complete charge (120 to 150 minutes). By relying on four sensors – ultrasonic, acceleration, contact and magnetic – the robot is able to perform a thorough and precise cleaning, including the edges of a window.

Recently, the company announced an upgraded version of this product that includes an advertising function for businesses wanting to leverage the curious spectacle of the window cleaning robot. The new product was designed specifically for businesses wanting not only clean windows but also an attention-grabbing marketing tool. Franchises such as those selling coffee, hamburgers, and pizza can expect to generate a great deal of use – and stares – from this product.

RF’s window cleaning robot, Windowmate, participated last year at IFA 2016, and was selected by overseas media outlets as one of the top 5 products to keep an eye on. At CES 2017, the company’s technological innovation was recognized with innovation awards in two categories. As a result of being featured in global media outlets such as CNET, the company’s visibility has grown considerably.

In December 2016, the company won the “2016 Korea Robot Company of the Year” from The Robot News. And, as a nod to their accomplishments and promising outlook in the field of window cleaning robots, they were awarded the “Export Innovation Entrepreneurship Award” from KOTRA last September.

At IFA 2017 held in September, RF participated in the opening ceremony’s official press event “ShowStoppers @ IFA” to promote their window cleaning robot to global media outlets. Exports to Japan began in 2015, but the company recently signed a hefty contract worth $ 3.92 million with a Japanese home appliance distributor and have since began shipments. The company is now looking to use their participation in IFA 2017 to crack open the European market.

RF’s official distributor SODC is looking forward to this October’s launching event for Windowmate. Large Korean retailers such as Himart, Etland, and Electro Mart have also begun carrying this product.
